We are constantly working on improving our InCopy Editor. However, for now, there are a few known issues we would like to inform you about.

When Track Changes is ON | Issues with changes tracking

When the tracking mode is ON, the following issues may take place:

  • Accepting and rejecting changes does not work for changes made inside a table.

  • When you remove some text, and then put the cursor at the end of this change and then use the Backspace button, this change will be deleted completely and the text is gone.

  • After some changes have been rejected, and the asset has been checked-in (saved), blank paragraphs may appear where the changes used to be.
  • When you paste some text, it will have an unexpected character style which is easy to change. 
  • The original formatting from Word is not kept correctly in the InCopy Editor, e.g., it is replaced with some other formatting. This is only relevant for pasting using hot keys.
  • When you cancel your changes on the asset using the Cancel button on the asset, you cannot activate changes tracking right after that. 

Color for highlighting tracked changes

Changes are supposed to be highlighted with the color taken from the user profile, i.e., unique for each user. However, this color is being changed to the default orange color after checking-in the asset for the stories that ever had any unresolved changes before.

Copy-pasting any text inside the InCopy Editor

If you copy-paste some text with an empty character at the end of it, and then type in some other text where the empty character used to be, this additional text will not be saved upon saving the asset.

When changes tracking is ON: The original formatting from Word is not kept correctly in the InCopy Editor, e.g., it is replaced with some other formatting. This is only relevant for pasting using hot keys.

Notes

New notes added to any text with an applied character style will inherit this style. The style of the notes cannot be changed later, even if you change the character style of the text where it is placed.
