Quality gates

Quality gates represent a maturity stage of an asset. Quality gates are part of a quality gate sequence.

Usage

Quality gates cannot be used standalone. Quality gates must be assigned to a quality gate sequence.

Quality gates are part of an asset structure. Quality gates are referenced in a quality gate sequence. The quality gates of a quality gate sequence can only be achieved in the defined order. Each quality gate comprises a set of completeness checks. If all completeness checks of a quality gate are true and all previous quality gates are achieved, this quality gate is achieved.

Configuration

Deprecated: Asset type filter

The Asset type filter is deprecated for the Quality gate asset type. In some assets in the system, the asset type filter property may still be set. However, this property is ignored. If you create new quality gates via the censhare Client, do not set this property in quality gates! Instead, set the asset type filter in the quality gate sequence.

To configure a quality gate, do the following:

  1. In the top navigation, click Create and select Quality gate. Enter a name, enable the resource and generate a resource key.

You can also create a new quality gate directly in the Quality gates widget of a quality gate sequence.

  2. In the Completeness checks widget, assign the desired completeness checks.

If you do not assign at least one completeness check to a quality gate, this quality gate is always achieved (aka true). Although this is not intended for most cases, the default Created quality gate (the first stage of all predefined quality gate sequences) uses this configuration.
