Limits for censhare Server logfiles

How to change the censhare server logging limits and where to find the logfiles.

Changing the logfile values can increase the required disk space. Check that the remaining disk space is sufficient before you change these values.

Change logfile limits

The server logging is configured in the censhare Admin Client.

  1. Log into the censhare Admin Client.
  2. Go to Configuration | Server | General.
  3. For a local server, double-click General Server=master.
    For a remote server, double-click General Server=remote.
  4. The Logfile limit setting defines how many logfiles the server keeps at once. The default is 100. Adjust the value to your needs.
  5. The Max. log-file size (bytes) setting defines how big each individual logfile can get. The default is 20000000 bytes (20MB). Adjust the value to your needs.
Assuming the default for both values, the size of all logfiles is 2000000000 bytes (2GB).
  6. Restart the server for the changes to take effect.

These changes affect only the 'server-0.x.log' logfiles.
