Context
The Taxonomy is part of the censhare DAM Starter Kit workspace.
Introduction
A taxonomy is a classification system by which your assets are tagged, classified, and put in relation to each other. the censhare DAM Starter Kit offers two independent properties to built a taxonomy - catgeories and keywords.
Categories and keywords can be used to search and filter assets. In a more advanced setup, you can use categories and keywords to determine or restrict the usage of production assets in certain publications or channel outputs. For example, ensure that in a catalog production Travel, only editorial images from the travel category can be placed.
Categories
Categories provide a more rigid, flat or hierarchical list. Each asset in your repository is assigned to exactly one category. A category system is built starting from the root categories. The root categories are part of the censhare Light installation, and correspond to the asset categories:
Images
Videos
Audio files
3D models
Documents
Persons
A feature inheritance rule ensures that child categories can only be assigned to assets that belong to the corresponding type of the root category.
To build a category tree, you recreate your existing classification system, or create a new one from scratch. To create new categories, you must be a Solution administrator. As a specialist user, you can assign a category to an asset. As a consumer user, you can see the categories that are assigned to an asset.
We recommend to create a category tree from unambiguous typology items. For example:
Images
Nature
Business
Family
Sports
Keywords
Keywords provide a more fine-grained classification system for your assets. Keywords can be put in a hierarchical tree, or a flat list. Keywords are not a unique classification, To classify an asset, it can have multiple keywords. As a specialist user, you can assign existing keywords to an asset, or create a new keyword, if necessary. Google AI image analysis also assign and create keywords to the analyzed assets.
We recommend to create a semantic keyword tree. For example:
Persons
Groups
Small group
Crowd
Individuals
Celebrities
Children
Adults
Objects
Activities
Leisure
Celebration
Holiday
Workout
Relax
Work
Office
Factory
Construction
