Image transformation variants cropping - SysAdmin

The command "Asset · Variants · Create transformation variant" opens this dialog.

With this function, it is possible to create image crops as a separate version without a graphics program or the censhare image editor. The frame size and the aspect ratio of the crop are defined as follows in the master data under "Image crops" and can be selected later in the dialogue where the transformation variant is created.

Example

A user wants to select a square rectangle and therefore defines a fixed aspect ratio of 1:1. A new variant created with this setting will be square.

Configuration

You can find the necessary dialogues and transformation assets in the installation folder of the server. Here you will find: the file "XSLT-picture-crop. censhare assets" from the "censhare-Server/install/assets/optional/transformation-variant". The file "XSLT-localization.censhare-assets" from the "censhare-Server/install/assets/required/transformation". Import both with the server action "Import Assets". The latest entries in "My Documents" should then list two new XSLT transformations and the "Picture Crop Dialog".

Open "Master data · Image crops" to set and save your own presets for image crops. You can set the hook in the check-box "Fixed size", so that the generated image crop variant always has this size. Otherwise, the crop variant will be created with the set target width and height and with the specified aspect ratio.

The command "Asset · Variants · Create transformation variant" will open a dialogue, where you can set the image crop interactively. Here you will have to select "XSLT: Variant Picture Crop". In the menu below all your image crops are available that have been stored in the master data. The selection is centered by default. You can modify the size of the frame selection on all four corners with the mouse. The selection will be adjusted according to the selected aspect ratio. Under the image selection, you have to mark the checkbox "Automatic". If you forget it, the transformation will not be executed. Before clicking "OK" you can assign an appropriate name if you do not want to make use of the automatic naming via XPath. The other necessary settings in the Admin-Client are found under "Configuration · Modules · Transformations · Transformation variants · Create image transformation variant" and optionally under "Create image transformation variant automatically"​​. Here you must select the image transformation asset and in the row below, you can preconfigure an XPath expression for the name of the variant to be created. Via the menu item "Edit Asset · Relations" or the context menu, you can subsequently reposition the crop for the marked asset variant. Please make sure that in the server configuration the module "Synchronize transformation variants (automatic)", is not inadvertently disabled.

If you define a keyboard shortcut for this action in the Admin-Client, then all available image crops in the master data are applied automatically without user interaction starting from the image center of one or multiple selected assets.
