ExifTool - Troubleshooting

How to avoid pitfalls when importing geotagged image material.

Introduction

The metadata mapping takes place locally and not on the server.

If error reports are written to the server's error directory during import and geotagged photos and their GPS coordinates are not shown in the client, please check the following.

  • Did you make customizations to the default configuration of a locally installed ExifTool that is used separately from censhare? If yes, then remove such a configuration or rename its hidden file in the terminal to keep it for later. For OS X it is located the User folder of the logged in user:: ~/.ExifTool_config

  • Did you install a modified Config File for ExifTool? Then please also delete the preferences file ~/.ExifTool_config
