Serialize InDesign Server after the trial with Adobe PRTK

Adobe InDesign Server CS6 and CC - Creative Suite Enterprise Deployment

License Note

CS6, CC: After a 90-day trial period has ended, a purchased serial entered in the Installer is rejected.

Requirements

Any InDesign CS6 and CC Server must be activated before they can be used. If the computer is online, activation is done automatically during install. You need to provide your Adobe ID, and serial number when prompted by the installer. Unless the software is activated, you'll see an error, "Adobe InDesign Server’ is not properly licensed and will now quit." It is mandatory to download Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition (APTEE) for using the InDesign Server 90-day trial and deserialize or activate a full license.

For macOS X open and install: Adobe_Provisioning_Toolkit_6_2_ALL.dmg

For Windows please install: Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition

There is no version for CC yet, but the CS6 PRTK seems to run with CC.

macOS, open the Terminal and run:

CODE
/Applications/Utilities/adobe_prtk /Applications/Adobe\ InDesign\ CS6\ Server/InDesignServer.app --tool=StartTrial --leid=InDesignServer-CS6-Mac-GM

Windows, open the cmd shell and run:

CODE
adobe_prtk.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6 Server x64\InDesignServer.exe --tool=StartTrial --leid=InDesignServer-CS6-Win-GM

How to activate a purchased license after the trial has ended:

It is not possible to run the installer again and to enter the serial number. Instead, corporations have to use the above PRTK tool and deserialize the software. Now

For more information, see enter the Serial with Adobe's PRTK

Toolkit.

Example for macOS

CODE
sudo /Applications/Utilities/adobe_prtk --tool=Serialize --leid=InDesignServerDev-CS6-Mac-GM --serial=enterserialhere --adobeid=yourid@yourcompany.com
