Consumption monitoring for 3D assets enhancement package

How to monitor utilization of your monthly limit and avoid hitting it too early.

Since the number of action calls is limited by the pricing tier you selected, we kindly recommend you to monitor the service consumption to avoid hitting the rate limit and getting blocked.

This can be done using a Grafana dashboard. You will need to obtain credentials for it. Please approach your project manager.

Where to find consumption dashboard

The consumption monitoring dashboard is accessible through the censhare Cloud cockpit.

  • Log in to the cockpit

  • Scroll down to the Monitoring section

  • Click on “View dashboards”

  • Click on “3D Model Consumption Metrics”

How to read data on dashboards

General consumption metrics

On the two top charts, you will find the following metrics:

  • Total: the limit specified in your pricing tier, the highest amount of calls you can make in a calendar month.

  • Used: how many of them are already used.

  • Remaining: how many you still can use.

The Remaining count is probably one of the most important metrics. But it does not say much if you do not take into account how quick you burn your calls, how much time is left until the end of the month, how many users you have, etc.

That‘s why we also recommend to have a closer look into the usage over time and for the certain calls.

Consumption per action call type

Further charts help you to dig into the consumption of certain services. On each chart, you will see three types of metrics:

  • Total number of calls

  • Successful number of calls: action calls that led to a successful metadata generation or file format conversion

  • Failed number of calls: number of times the user called the action from the UI, but the action failed in the background and led to no result.

Please be aware that failed calls count into the Used calls! I.e., failed calls are deducted from the Remaining calls (your monthly rate limit).

If you notice too many failed calls, please open a support ticket.

Selecting time period

By default, the dashboard shows data for the last 15 minutes. In the top right corner, you can select another time period.

The selected time range will be applied to all charts, except for the total numbers for the current month (total, used, and remaining on the top left chart).

Data refresh

If you keep the dashboard constantly opened on your screen, you may want to refresh it from time to time manually or to set it to refresh automatically.

Otherwise you will see the data that was available by the time you opened the dashboard.

The refresh will be applied to all charts, except for total numbers for the current month (total, used, and remaining on the top left chart).
