Learn how to use the Adobe integration with InDesign Server and a dedicated Render Client.

Installation InDesign Server

Prerequisites

  1. Check the software- and hardware requirements.

  2. Know the InDesign Server serial number.  You get the serial number from your Adobe vendor where you have bought the software.

  3. Know the End Customers Adobe ID. The reseller always orders the license from Adobe by specifying the end customer. Therefore, the end customers Adobe ID must be used during installation. Ask the end customer for his Adobe ID or if he doesn't have one, let him create a new one at Adobe.com.

  4. Disabled  operating system firewall.

Windows

  1. Unzip Adobe InDesign Server installation package, execute  Set-up.exe  and follow the installation wizard.
    NOTE: On the installation screen "Options" choose  English (North America) as language and tick   ID Server components (x64)   and   ID Server service files (x64) .
  2. After a successful installation unzip the latest rapid release for your InDesign Server, for example  ID_IC_IDS_b412WinFixes.zip . Navigate to   AdobeInDesignServer8Patch-All.zip, unzip it and apply the patch by executing AdobePatchInstaller.exe .

macOS

  1. Open InDesignServer.dmg. Execute  Install.app within  Adobe InDesign CS6 Server and follow the installation wizard.

    On installation screen "Options", choose  English (North America)  as language and tick  ID Server components (x64)  and  ID Server service files (x64).

  2. After a successful installation unzip the latest rapid release for your InDesign Server, for example,   ID_IC_IDS_b412MacFixes.zip . Navigate to   AdobeInDesignServer8Patch-All.dmg   and open it. Execute AdobePatchInstaller.app   within   InDesignServerCS6-AdobeUpdate   to apply the patch.

Installation Render Client

Renderer prerequisites

  1. Check the censhare system requirements.

  2. Disable the operating system firewall.

Windows

  1. Unzip censhare Render-Client, execute censhare Render-Client Installer.exe and follow the installation wizard. The software will be installed to  C:\Program Files\censhare\censhare Render-Client.
  2. Start  censhare Render-Client.exe  and if required enter your Host-Name and Host-URL and hit  OK.
  3. Enter User, Password, tick  Log on automatically  and log on.

macOS

  1. Open censhare Render-Client Installer.dmg, execute  censhare Render-Client Installer.pkg  and follow the installation wizard. The software will be installed to  /Applications/censhare\ Render-Client.
  2. Start  censhare Render-Client  and if required enter your Host-Name and Host-URL and hit  OK.
  3. Enter User, Password, tick  Log on automatically  and log on.



Logfiles

The Render-Client logs to C:\Users\<user>\censhare\<version>.
