Product items
A Product item represents an individual sellable item with a unique article number or order number.
Context
Product items belong to a product. Product items inherit all features from their parent product. The features that distinguish product items of a product (size, color, etc.), are stored in the Product item and overwrite any default value inherited from the product.
Usage
Product items are optional child assets of a product. A product item represents a unique sellable item of a product. For example, a product in a given size and/or color. For products that are only available in one configuration, you do not need product items.
Product items are used like products. You can overwrite any product feature or replace any related content that a product item inherits from the parent product:
Assign images of the product item to replace the inherited images.
Define the product features of a product to overwrite the inherited values.
Data model
Products are the parent asset of product items. Product items represent a sellable item of the product and differ in color or size, etc. The Product item relation inherits all product features to the product items.
