Products

Products represent an individual product that is advertised to the market.

Context

A product represents a marketing entity. Products belong to a product category hierarchy which classifies them. Products have optional child entities - the Product items - that represent unique sellable items.

Usage

Product data in censhare PIM consists of classification data (for example categories, classes, segments), technical data (for example dimensions, power), vendor data (for example: prices, sizes) and marketing data (for example: product description, images). These data are stored in the Product asset as product features or assigned to it via asset relations. Products inherited features from the Product category hierarchy to which they belong.

In Product assets, you can manage the following type of data and information:

• Place a product in a structure of hierarchical product categories to inherit all product features from the categories to the product. Assign media assets to a product as main image, main content, main audio, main video or 3d model.

• Optionally, create child Product items. Each product item represents a unique sellable item with an article/order number. For example, product items differ in size or color. If not applicable to your products, product items can be excluded.

• Additionally, create relations between products that represent sales strategies such as cross-selling or up-selling, product services or warranties.

• Add branding, manufacturer and supplier information to a product by assigning brand assets and company assets.

• Create a parts and spare parts list by assigning the respective assets to a product.

• Manage your sales and distribution channels with localized, customized product information for sales regions, brands, web-shops, cataglogs.
