Create feature requests

Introduction

The Request a Feature function in Censhare Web enables users to submit ideas, suggest enhancements, or request new functionality directly within the application.

This feature eliminates the need to leave Censhare Web to enter feedback. It also allows users to follow the Changelog within Censhare Web to stay informed about newly released features, improvements, and updates.

Best Practices

Before submitting a request:

  • Search for existing requests: Avoid duplicates.

  • Vote for existing ideas: Voting helps to prioritize the most desired features.

  • Provide clear details: Include a concise title, and description, if relevant.

Well-documented requests are reviewed faster and are more likely to be considered for implementation.

How to Submit a Feature Request

1. Check Existing Requests

  1. Log in to Censhare Web with your current password.

  2. In the toolbar at the top right, click your user name to open the user menu.

  3. Select Request a Feature.
    A modal dialog opens that is containing the submission form.

  4. Browse or search for similar ideas.

  5. If your idea already exists, click Vote instead of creating a new request.

Important: Voting for highlights helps the product team when identifing high demands for features.

2. Create a New Request

  1. Log in to Censhare Web with your current password.

  2. In the toolbar at the top right, click your user name to open the user menu.

  3. Select Request a Feature:
    A modal dialog opens.

  4. Click Create:
    The submission form opens.

  5. Complete the form:

    • Title: A concise summary of your idea

    • Description: Details, use case, or examples

  6. Click Submit.

  7. A confirmation message appears once your request has successfully been logged.

Ensure your request is clear and specific to improve review efficiency.

3. What happens next

  1. Requests are assigned to the product management team.

  2. The team reviews submissions and high-voted ideas to determine priorities for future releases.

  3. Feedback may be incorporated into upcoming versions based on feasibility and demand.

Watch the Changelog

  1. Log in to Censhare Web with your current password.

  2. In the toolbar at the top right, click your user name to open the user menu.

  3. Select Request a Feature:
    A modal dialog opens.

  4. Click the Changelog tab.

  5. You can watch the Changelog to follow updates, implemented requests, or ongoing improvements.

High-voted requests are prioritized by product management.
