Understanding the Marmind integration

A brief overview of the Marmind functionality and differences between two systems.

Functional overview

What is Marmind

Marmind is a leading Marketing Resource Management (MRM) software designed to help brands optimize their marketing resources and increase ROI. It provides a centralized platform for managing complex marketing processes, including campaign planning, budgeting, and performance analysis.

It is a separate browser-based application.

In the current integration, Marmind serves as a leading system, and certain changes can or should only be done in Marmind, to ensure data consistency and integrity.

What the integration does

The integration enables access to the Censhare assets from the Marmind UI and synchronizes any changes done to them in the Marmind UI back to the Censhare system.

You can continue storing, editing, and managing your media assets in Censhare, but use Marmind for advanced campaign planning and monitoring. You will be able to access your media assets stored in Censhare from the Marmind UI and perform some basic operations on them, while staying in the Marmind system.

In Censhare, assets shared between two system have two additional widgets:

  • “Marmind properties” to display all important information that you have entered on the media asset in Marmind system. This widget needs to be explicitly added to the workspace configuration and also configured which information should be shown.

  • “Marmind objects” to display context objects of this asset in Marmind, see Marmind object tree in Censhare for more information

Marmind is highly customizable, and this documentation uses terms and definitions from the standard third-party product.

Assets in Censhare and Marmind

There are a few things to remember when it comes to differences between the two systems.

Whereas in Censhare absolutely everything is as an asset, in Marmind, only media assets – images, videos, etc. – are considered assets, and the rest are called objects. For example, campaigns are not assets in Marmind. Consequently,

the asset files and meta data are only synchronised for what is an asset on both sides.

Such synch is universal: regardless of which system you use for editing an asset, the changes are visible in the other system immediately.

Since the media assets are stored in Censhare, and in the Marmind UI you only see their references,

one and the same Censhare asset can be re-used multiple times in Marmind.

Indeed, you have to keep in mind that any changes to such assets will be pushed to any place where they are referenced.

Last but not least, for now, your Marmind user is not synched with your Censhare user. Your admin will take care of setting the correct permissions in both systems, and you can even log in to Censhare and Marmind simulteneously using SSO.
