Question
The css/redistributed.txt and the “Censhare tools” documentation may not match each other, and newer versions of the Censhare server and its tools, like the Cloud Gateway (CGW) and the Static Resource Server (SRS), are released. How to know what version of each tool to install?
Answer
The redistributed.txt file is updated with every major Censhare release (e.g., 2024.2.0, 2025.1.0). However, for patch releases, the file remains unchanged. The documentation website is updated in a similar fashion.
Our official recommendation is to use the latest available version of the CGW and SRS tools based on their Java compatibility with the Censhare server:
|
Java version |
Censhare versions |
CGW versions |
SRS versions |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Java 11 |
2021.2 – 2022.1 |
CGW-2.x.x |
SRS-2.x.x |
|
Java 17 |
2022.2 – 2024.3 |
CGW-3.x.x |
SRS-3.x.x |
|
Java 21 |
2025.1 - |
CGW-4.x.x |
SRS-4.x.x |
This means, for example, that for any Censhare versions 2024.x.x, which uses Java 17, the latest available CGW-3.x.x should be installed. The same for the SRS version.
