Create screenshot of 3D model assets
Introduction
Via the screenshot button, you can create a screenshot of your 3D model.

The screenshot is taken from the selected view angel of your 3D model in Preview widget of the 3D model asset. censhare then creates an image, a preview and a thumbnail from the selected view.
Images created
The screenshot is used to create:
Image asset: The image asset is linked via a Media relation to the 3D model asset. You can view the attached screenshots in the Media widget on the same tab and open the desired one.
The size of the image is centrally defined and used for all screenshots. If you require to change this, contact your administrator. For more information, see Configure screenshots for 3D models.Thumbnail: The thumbnail image is attached to the 3D model asset. For example, the thumbnail is shown in the result list of an asset search.
Preview: The preview image is attached to the 3D model asset. You can see the preview in the Assigned preview widget at the Details tab.
When censhare creates the image asset from the screenshot, the asset name follows the following convention:
FILENAME.snapshot.TIMESTAMP.png
FILENAME is the original file name without the extension. It is not the name of the 3D model asset that stores this 3D model file.
TIMESTAMP is the timestamp when the screenshot has been taken. The timestamp follows ISO 8601 and does not contain the milliseconds.
To see the size of an screenshot image:
Open the Screenshot image asset.
Go to Overview tab und look at the Properties File widget.
Steps to create screenshot
Open the Overview tab of the desired 3D model asset.
In the Preview widget, select the desired view angel and presentation of the 3D model.
Click “Create preview snapshot from current position“ screenshot button at left of the preview toolbar.
The screenshot is taken. Image asset, thumbnail, and asset preview are created and attached respectively linked to the 3D model asset.
If you create several screenshots, censhare will always use the latest screenshot for the preview and the thumbnail.
