Install color profiles, job options and fonts
Where to store job options, color profiles and fonts to enable InDesignServer or the ServiceClients's ImageService tools to use them.
Censhare Classic installations
Job options
1. You must not install one job option in two locations. Job options are only allowed to be installed in one of the below-mentioned locations!
2. If you have installed the job options successfully you will have to restart the InDesignServer to ensure proper functionality.
Windows
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\
If InDesign Server is running under user SYSTEM or the job options are defined with square brackets:
InDesignServers since version 2017:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\<Adobe InDesign CC Server name>\Resources\Adobe PDF\settings\mul\
Japanese installed servers since version 2017, use this different folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\<Adobe InDesign CC Server name>\Resources\Adobe PDF\settings\japan\

The folder named Res
contains some kind of translation tables for job option names from the original file name to other languages. Hint: You must read "between" the "multi" signs in these files or open the binary in Textwrangler for better readability.
macOS
/Users/<user>/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Adobe\ PDF/Settings/
Also for Mac the system user path /Library/…
was changed by Adobe. Since Adobe CC, job options need to be placed in Programs/<Adobe InDesign CC ...>Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/mul/
Japanese installed applications use Programs/<Adobe InDesign CC ...>Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/japan/
Color profiles for the Render Client
Note: If you have installed the color profiles successfully, you must restart the InDesignServer to ensure proper functionality. Each color profile is only allowed to be reachable once for an InDesignServer instance - otherwise IDS will not decide which color profile is the correct one and will fallback to its standard.
Windows
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Color\Profiles\Recommended\
If InDesign Server is running under user SYSTEM:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Fi
les\Adobe\Color\Profiles\Recommended\
macOS
/Users/<user>/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended/
Color profiles for the Service Client
Windows
C:\Users\<user>\censhare\v4\hosts\<host>\iccprofiles\
macOS
/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/censhare/v4/hosts/<host>/iccprofiles/
Linux
censhare Server:
/opt/corpus/cscs/app/services/image/iccprofiles/
Linux Service-Client:
/opt/corpus/service-client/config/.hosts/<host>/iccprofiles/
Fonts
If you have installed the fonts successfully you will have to restart the InDesignServer to ensure proper functionality.
Windows
Since InDesignServer CS6 censhare operates InDesignServer in 64-bit mode. Thus install your fonts into 64bit installation folder:C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6 Server x64\Fonts\
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC Server\Fonts
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC Server 2014\Fonts\
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CC Server 2015\Fonts\
macOS
Double-click your font and install it by clicking Install font.
Censhare Cloud installations
The workflow described below is only possible if:
you have only one InDesign server version
you have only one Censhare Server
If your setup does not meet these requirements, you need to use the Classic method described above. Please raise a support request and attach all your files to it.
Cloud customers can manage fonts, colors, and job options from the Cloud cockpit. All those settings can be installed in a few easy steps.
Prepare files with colors, fonts, and job options.
For colors, you can provide zip
files. Please make sure you name them properly, as those names will be used later in the InDesign.
Access File and Folders from the Cloud cockpit
Search for a bucket with
-fonts-management
endingOpen it
Open the correct subfolder
Upload corresponding settings into each of the folders (e.g.,
.icc
files tocolors
)Go back to the Cockpit main page
On the left side, select “Administration”
Click on the Font Management tab
Click “Sync”
Wait for around 15 minutes for sync to run
Check the logs folder
If no error is present in the log, the new settings have been applied correctly.
If you do not have a running Renderer in your Cloud environment (e.g., on a testing system), no fonts management bucket will be created, and the Sync button will not be visible in the Font Management tab.
